The “Innovation of the year 2017” award was awarded this week to the Turbine Works Ltd. from Karlovac (TTK) for the innovation of “Condensing steam turbine with regulated steam extraction with electric power output of 3600kW”. The award was awarded by the Association of Croatian Innovators, and was awarded by Minister of Economy, Mr. Darko Horvat.
The innovation for which the company received the award was put into operation in spring 2018 as a prototype and successfully operates continuously in the cogeneration power plant in Đakovo, Croatia.
This turbine is engineered for power outputs up to 6 MW and is intended for small co-generation plants on wood chips, waste disposal plants, or power plants on other fuels.
It represents the TTK’s significant technological breakthrough in the development of steam turbines and confirms the strategic direction of company development in the field of steam turbines but also the revitalization and modernization of existing steam turbines of older generations.
