Precise measurement on site
Reverse engineering is technique used to obtain technical information such as 3D model, 2D drawings or precise measurements of existing and often quite old equipment components which can be used for:
- various analysis
- creation of techical documentation, e.g. manufacturing drawings
- manufacture of components, often as replacement for parts which are no longer available on the market
- reconstruction of components
Reverse engineering is performed as mixture of various techniques:
- manual measurements
- by use of portabe 3D precise measuring tools
- by use of 3D scanning devices
Most often examples:
- Steam turbine blades (stator and rotor)
- Water turbine blades
- Pump impellers
- Pump casings
- Other various wearable complex parts
